Orlando Named an American City of the Future!

Orlando has been growing in significance as a powerhouse behind the country’s economic recovery. The metro Orlando region is no stranger to accolades for everything from job creation to being a great startup city. More tourism and economic opportunity has been fueling Orlando’s rise for years. Foreign Direct Investment Magazine recently recognized the city of Orlando as one of the top 10 American Cities of the Future, scoring high marks as a top city overall, top large city for economic potential, and a top large city for connectivity, among others.

“These rankings speak to the rich economic opportunity that Orlando brings to companies investing in the United States,” said Rick Weddle, president and CEO of the Orlando Economic Development Commission. “We have a robust, specialized workforce and easy market access coupled with a strong market that offer outstanding international support and resources such as the Central Florida International Trade Office.”

The fact that Orlando is also home to many international companies also helped it in the rankings. Among the international companies here with a large presence are:

  • * Signature Flight Support, BBA Aviation
  • * Mazor Robotics
  • * Italico Aviation

The results will appear in the April/May issue of the magazine.

Orlando has been consistently scoring high rankings and gaining national attention.
