Barktoberfest at Lake Eola!
The fourth annual Barktoberfest, an Orange County Animal Services adoption event, will return Saturday to Lake Eola in downtown Orlando. More than 20 area pet rescue groups will attend the event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the southeast side of the lake area.
In addition to pets being offered for adoption, Barktoberfest features food trucks, cute pups wandering around, free microchipping, $5 rabies vaccinations, different raffles and events, and a nearby “Shampooch” area where owners can have their dogs washed, proceeds from which go toward local rescue groups.
The event celebrates Animal Services’ partnership with roughly 70 area rescue groups that aid in the recovery and adoption of many homeless animals. Last year’s event drew in approximately 8,000 people and helped raise awareness for the rescue groups and vendors. More than 50 animals were adopted!
