Living and Working in Park Lake/Highland

This Orlando neighborhood is renowned as the #2 neighborhood for Millennials in the area, second to only Downtown Orlando. This fact is due in part to the proximal location but is also affected by the eclectic feel the neighborhood boasts. It’s a very bike-friendly neighborhood, which the Orlando Urban Trail running right through the area. It takes only about 15 minutes to bike from Park Lake/Highland to Downtown Orlando. This might be even faster than driving, especially during rush hour!

The layout of the city makes it very walkable and charming. On the weekends, residents of Park Lake/Highland might be found spending the day at either Lake Highland or Park Lake. There are restaurants all across the north-eastern edge of the neighborhood, and new options pop up all the time!

Lake Highland Preparatory School has massive 26-acre complex that sits just south of Lake Highland, with smaller campuses spread throughout the community. It was founded in 1970 and it’s known as one of the top academic schools in the area.

There are a number of great restaurants and bars in Park Lake/Highland, as well as the opportunity for an outdoor lifestyle. There are Juice Bikes located in many prominent areas for an evening of fun biking around the city. Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa is one of the most popular restaurants in this neighborhood – and for good reason. Their selection of brews and barbecue make this eclectic joint a must-try. While they have classic BBQ options, they also mix it up by adding tacos to the global-inspired menu.

The Hammered Lamb is a great spot for a night out with friends. Not only does their menu featured delectable brunch, lunch and dinner options, but patrons also dabble in trivia, ping pong and live music! They are known for their BYO bloody mary bar, where you can load up your libation with over 75 unique ingredients.

The Park Lake/Lake Highland neighborhood provides two business districts full of things to do and places to shop. The Ivanhoe Village Main Street District provides many shopping options, while the Mills 50 Main Street District provides all kinds of dining choices.
